Our vitamin K2 is derived from 100% natural Japanese natto (a fermented soybean product), and because the Western diet is typically low in fermented foods, it also tends to be low in K2.  Since vitamin K2 is fat soluble, we deliver ours in sunflower oil-based softgels for optimum bioavailability.
